Ground Transportation

Rental Car

The most flexible option, available at both DEN and HDN.

Important

Uber and Lyft do not service the mountains reliably. In many cases they will not accept rides to the ranch at all. We strongly encourage all guests to arrange a rental car or private shuttle in advance. Do not plan to rely on rideshare for this trip.

We're happy to help assist with carpool arrangements. Reach out to Hayley or Hayden directly.

Why Devil's Thumb Ranch?

Hayden grew up just outside of Boulder, and together we made Denver our home for a short while (where we welcomed Daisy to our family!) before moving to the Bay Area. Hayley also spent her childhood summers at a dude ranch only 30 minutes down the road from Devil's Thumb Ranch, so this corner of the mountains holds a special place in our hearts. It felt like the perfect spot to bring our favorite people together and celebrate!

Who is included in my invitation?

Your invitation is addressed to everyone included in your party. By starting the RSVP process on this website, your party members will appear when entering your name. Still have questions? Reach out and we'll be happy to clarify!

Do I need to attend the whole weekend?

We are so grateful for any part of the weekend you're able to spend with us! While we would love to have you there for all of it, there is absolutely no obligation to attend every activity or stay onsite for all three nights. Come for as much as works for you.

Which airport should I fly into?

Most guests will fly into Denver International Airport (DEN), approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours from the ranch by car (100 miles). Yampa Valley Regional Airport (HDN) is a smaller option approximately 2 hours away (120 miles). See the Travel page for directions, rental car info, and shuttle options.

How does lodging work? Do I need to book a room?

More details to come!

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is Thursday at 4PM. Check-out is Sunday at 11AM. If you arrive early or want to linger after checkout, you're welcome to enjoy the ranch, and the staff can store your luggage so you can make the most of your time.

What should I wear?

Each evening's dress code is listed on the Schedule page.

During the day on the ranch, attire is casual! Be sure to pack long pants if you'd like to horseback ride, workout clothes for hiking, and a bathing suit for the pool.

What should I know about the weather and altitude?

July in the Rockies brings warm, sunny days (70s–80s°F) and cool nights (40s–50s°F), with the occasional afternoon rain shower. The ranch also sits at roughly 8,300 feet, and the altitude can sneak up on you, so drink plenty of water (more than you think you need) and don't be surprised if you feel a little winded at first. Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat are essential, as the sun is much stronger up here.

How do I sign up for ranch activities?

More details to come!

Is there cell service and WiFi at the ranch?

Cell service can be spotty in the mountains, but WiFi is available at the ranch, so you'll be able to stay connected (as much or as little as you'd like!).

Who should I reach out to with questions?

Our wonderful wedding planner, Amanda Slater, is happy to help with any questions. You can reach her at amanda@slater-events.com.
